Credit Cards Rewards & Non-Rewards
February 15th, 2006    Subscribe To Our FeedÂ
When selecting a credit card you should always look out for the Annual Percentage Rate, additional fees and of course rewards.
Non Reward Credit Cards
These types of credit cards will not reward you for making payments on time or even if you spending lots of money with our credit card. Instead they subsidise your bonus for other important things waving any interest charged for a particular period of time.
The two know types of non reward credit cards include offers with 0% APR intro rates. Usually only open to certain people with good credit history. This is a major bonus because you can spend and not pay it back for the period of 0% APR. However since its only an introductory offer you’ll have to revert back to the usual APR once the period is over.
The second type of non reward credit cards have lower than normal APR and this is ongoing.
Credit Cards With Rewards
If you’re more interested in getting a free Xbox or iPod instead of lower interst rates then credit cards with rewards are just the thing you need. If you always pay on time and want to get rewarded for it, then you’ll need a rewards credit card. However it will come with a slightly above the average interest rate but with the bonuses you’ll soon forget about it. Just always pay on time and you’ll be fine.

How To Compare Credit Card Interest Rates
February 15th, 2006    Subscribe To Our FeedSometimes if you don’t read the fine print you might find yourself signing up to a credit card with extremely high interest rates. And no body wants to pay extra when they can save.
The main secret to comparing credit cards is reading through the marketing material provided, visiting their website and looking around the internet for additional information.
Comparing Annual Percentage Rates (APR)
The most important aspect of comparing credit cards is the APR. APR or annual percentage rates is to do with the amount of interest you pay on your credit card if you don’t make the regular payments. APR’s differ depending on the credit card company and will also change depending on the nationally set interest rates and the individual’s credit rating. Comparing APR’s on different credit cards is fairly important when selecting credit cards.
When reading marketing material look out for the following
- APR Rates
- Billing Structures
- Additional Fees and how they are charged
Finding The APR
One of the best ways to find out what the APR rates on a particular card is to do a quick search on the internet. There should be a link on the credit card company website about APR and rates and other financial information and rates regarding the credit card.
Watch Out For Promotional Rates
If you see a really nice offer regarding low interest rates and special bonuses from a promotion of a credit card company, note that there might be a catch to it. Most promotional offers usually last for a couple of months and what this means is that when the offer ends you’ll be back to normal rates which in some cases are not worth going into. So make sure that the you’ll be happy with the usual rates before you take up any promotional offers on any credit card.
Lastly when comparing credit cards you should always compare APR’s of credit cards they you are considering along with activation fees and additional fees and benefits. You want to find the card with the lowest APR and fees possible. Don’t forget to look at promotional offers as well sometimes you might find something worth while.

Improve Your Credit Card Ratings
February 15th, 2006    Subscribe To Our FeedIf your currently in a troubled financial situation and facing bankruptcy or already bankrupted there is are still ways to get credit. Not everyone with a bad credit is totally at a disadvantage. Most people think that with bad credit it’ll be impossible to get low rates with financing however there are a few things you can do to improve your bad credit rating and lead yourself back to the path of ‘good credit.’
Bad Credit Cards
A person who does not have a credit history is usually classified in the same scenario as a person with a bad credit history. The main reason is if you don’t have a credit history the lender cannot identify your creditworthiness. For this simple reason, bad credit cards are designed specifically for people with no credit history and people with bad credit history.
Typically bad credit cards come in two forms, secured and unsecured. Secured cards usually require a deposit or down payment from the applicant before the issue of the card. An unsecured card will have no down payments however you’ll expect to have higher interest rates and major penalties if you miss a payment.
What To Do To Get Better Credit
If you’re looking to improve your credit history you’ll need to do a few things to prove to the lenders that you are worth of credit.
The easiest thing to do is spend money on your credit card like no tomorrow. However you’ll have to eventually pay it back. And how do you pay back what you own on time if you keep sending?
Rule #1 is to keep yourself from over spending. Each month set a side how much you can afford to spend and make sure you don’t spend over that amount. If you can’t pay your credit card on time that will make it look bad on you and it won’t help your credit history.
Rule #2 make sure you pay your credit card on time and keep in consistent. Just because you’ve been paying on time for the last 3 months doesn’t mean you can pay late on the 4th month. This will not improve your credit history so keep the payments always on time.
Rule #3 once you’ve got a better credit history with you credit card company you’ll be able to start applying for additional cards from other credit card companies. However you’ll need to make sure you don’t simply apply everywhere. In general only apply for credit cards at a maximum of 2 times a year. Credit card companies will know if you’ve applied for 10 credit cards in a year and they’ll think twice before they approve your application.
If you stick to the 3 rules you’ll be back on track to getting your credit history to normal. Don’t over spend and you’ll be fine, pay on time you you’ll get credit points. Just be patient and you’ll soon get all the credit you need.
